Upcoming Events: World Cyber Games Dec. 7-10

World Cyber Games

The WCG are an Olympics-style tournament where the best teams from each country compete. The 2010 World Cyber Games was also one of, if not the first, major tournament for League of Legends (and won by Counter Logic Gaming). It’s happening over four days starting soon.

There was lots of drama for the qualifiers for this year surrounding the Dignitas and CDE forced rematch and the potential grudge match could be actually be coming. Of course it might not as well.

Many of the teams competing were formed just for this tournament (although not all, like Dignitas and Flash), so if you see lots of unfamiliar names that’s why.

Groups: Groupings

When: due to the event taking place in Korea the times might be a little off-kilter from what a lot of people are used to (similar to how IEM Guangzhou was). They should manageable for West Coast people, somewhat tolerable for East Coast people, and somewhat hellish for the European market. Sorry Europe.

Times translated into Pacific Standard time.
Dec. 7th (group A and B) – 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Dec. 8th (group C and D) – 7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Dec. 9th (bracket play) – 9:30 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Dec. 10th (final rounds) – 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.
